Duas for sincere repentance and turning back to Allah
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, and from the evil of my sight, and from the evil of my tongue, and from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of my semen (or private parts).
Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him, I seek forgiveness from Allah and I turn to Him in repentance.
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is effective. Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself by, revealed in Your Book, taught to any of Your creation, or which You have kept exclusively for Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen. I ask You to make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sorrow, and the banisher of my anxiety. But I inform You that calamities are not lifted from us, and they have indeed befallen us. I ask You to remove them from us. Indeed, nothing else suffices for you all but this.
O Allah, I ask You for the ability to do good deeds, and to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try a people, then take me [to Yourself] without being tried by them. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of the deeds which will bring me closer to Your love.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and a firm resolve to follow guidance. I ask You to enable me to be grateful for Your favours and to worship You in the best way. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil I know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know, indeed You are the Knower of all unseen things.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is effective. Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which is with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the remover of my worries. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.
O people, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [Final] Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will [forget] what she nursed, and every pregnant one will miscarry her burden, and you will see people [appearing] as if they are drunk, but they will not be drunk. And the punishment of Allah is severe.
O Allah, forgive me for what I have committed and what I have delayed, for what I have concealed and what I have revealed, and for what I have exceeded [my limits]. You know best my shortcomings. You are the One who sends forth and the One who delays. There is no god but You.
O Allah, I ask You for a heart that fears You, a tongue that remembers You, beneficial knowledge, sincere conviction, upright religion, abundant good, sincere repentance before death, compassion towards those You have shown mercy, ease at death, forgiveness after death, pardon at the reckoning, safety from punishment, deliverance from the Fire, and a provision that is vast and pure, and a dominion that does not decay, and without account. O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty, independent of all else.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the destruction of buildings, the downfall of calamities, misery, and grief. And I seek refuge in You from hardship, suffering, the evil of divine decree, and the rejoicing of enemies. O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and resolve in following the right path. I ask You for gratitude for Your blessings, and excellence in Your worship. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know, indeed You are the Knower of the unseen.
O Allah, forgive me my sin, all of it, the small and the great, the first and the last, the apparent and the hidden.
