Duas for relief from anxiety, worry, and distress
O Allah, forgive me for what I have sent forth (of deeds) and what I have delayed, for what I have concealed and what I have revealed, and for what I have exceeded. And what You know better about me than myself. You are the Advancer and the Delayer. There is no god but You.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your judgment concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself by, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or reserved for Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a departure for my sadness, and a banisher of my anxieties.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your Hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, that You have taught to anyone in Your creation, that You have revealed in Your Book, or that You have retained in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Magnificent Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, the Splitter of the seed and the date stone, the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran, I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things You are seizing by its forelock. O Allah, You are the First, before Whom nothing exists, and You are the Last, after Whom nothing exists, You are the apparent, above Whom nothing exists, and You are the hidden, closer than Whom nothing exists. Settle our debts for us and enrich us from poverty. O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful, so that I may not resort to what You have made unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I may not need to ask from anyone other than You.
O Allah, forgive the believing men and believing women, and the Muslim men and Muslim women, those who are alive among them and those who are deceased. Verily, You are the All-Hearing, the Ever-Near, the Responder of prayers.
O Allah, grant my soul its righteousness, and purify it, for You are the Best Purifier. You are its Protector and Master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that is not humbled, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and grief. I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness. I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess. I seek refuge in You from being overwhelmed by debt and from being overcome by men.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the demolition of Your blessings, the turning of Your well-being, the sudden vengeance of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief. I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness. I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess. I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of the devils and their presence.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overwhelmed by debt and overpowered by men.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and grief, from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the heavy burden of debt and the oppression of men.
