O Allah, I ask You for a heart that fears You, a tongue that remembers You, beneficial knowledge, sincere conviction, upright religion, abundant good, sincere repentance before death, compassion towards those You have shown mercy, ease at death, forgiveness after death, pardon at the reckoning, safety from punishment, deliverance from the Fire, and a provision that is vast and pure, and a dominion that does not decay, and without account. O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty, independent of all else.
Allahumma inni as'aluka qalban khashi'an, wa lisanan dhakiran, wa 'ilman nafi'an, wa yaqinan sadiqan, wa dinan qayyiman, wa khayran kathiran, wa tawbatan nasuha qablal-mawt, wa ra'fatan biman rahim, wa shaqaa'an 'indal-mawt, wa maghfiratan ba'dal-mawt, wa 'afwan 'indal-hisab, wa amanan minal-'adhab, wa najatan minan-nar, wa rizqan wasi'an tayyiban, wa mulkan la yabla, wa bighayri hisab. Allahumma ikfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

The hadith states: "Some people said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the people of the markets have surpassed us in (performing) deeds.' He said: 'Did you not find in the markets that you supplicate to Allah? Indeed, I have supplicated to Allah for four things for my Ummah: I have asked Him for abundant sustenance for them, and He granted it to them. I asked Him for a just enemy to overcome them, and He granted it to them. I asked Him for them not to be destroyed by drowning, and He granted it to them. I asked Him for them not to be united against their enemy and kill each other, and He granted it to them.' Then he said: 'Four things have been given to you, and you have been given them, and it is from their sustenance.' Then he said: 'If I did not have the people of this world, I would not care about anything else.' Then he mentioned the supplication of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): 'Allahumma inni as'aluka qalbana khashi'an, wa lisanana dhakiran, wa 'ilman nafi'an, wa yaqinan sadiqan, wa dinan qayyiman, wa khayran kathiran, wa tawbatan nasuha qablal-mawt, wa ra'fatan biman rahim, wa shaqaa'an 'indal-mawt, wa maghfiratan ba'dal-mawt, wa 'afwan 'indal-hisab, wa amanan minal-'adhab, wa najatan minan-nar, wa rizqan wasi'an tayyiban, wa mulkan la yabla, wa bighayri hisab. Allahumma ikfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.' (O Allah, I ask You for a heart that fears You, and a tongue that remembers You, and knowledge that is beneficial, and sincere conviction, and upright religion, and abundant good, and sincere repentance before death, and compassion for those You have shown mercy to, and misery at death, and forgiveness after death, and pardon at the reckoning, and security from the punishment, and salvation from the Fire, and a provision that is vast and pure, and a kingdom that does not perish, and without reckoning.
