Duas for improving akhlaq, manners, and behavior
[Musa] said, 'My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.'
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the demise of Your blessings, the transformation of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that displeases You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from my anxieties and sorrows, my weaknesses and laziness, my cowardice and stinginess, the burden of debt and the subjugation of men. O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of all things and their Master, I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, and from the evil of Satan and his temptations, and from my doing evil to myself or dragging a Muslim into it.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female-servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have called Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any one of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief and the reliever of my anxiety.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You, which You have bestowed upon Yourself, or You have revealed in Your Book, or You have taught to any of Your creation, or You have retained in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the life of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my worries.
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.
O Allah, bring our hearts together, mend the discord between us, guide us to the paths of peace, deliver us from darkness to the light, keep us away from all lewdness, whether apparent or hidden, and bless our hearing, our sight, our hearts, our spouses, and our offspring. Turn to us in forgiveness, for You are the Ever-Turning, the Most Merciful.
Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and do not place in our hearts hatred for those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and the resolve to follow guidance. I ask You to enable me to be grateful for Your blessings and to worship You well. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil I know, and I ask Your forgiveness for what I know (of my sins).
O Allah, guide me to the best of conduct and good character, for none can guide to the best of it except You. And divert me from bad conduct and character, for none can divert from bad conduct and character except You.
O Allah, guide me to the best of manners, for none can guide to the best of them except You. And turn me away from bad manners, for none can turn away from bad manners except You.
"Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair soundness of conduct."
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all of Your displeasure.
