Duas taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
O Allah, I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know. I ask You for the good of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know.
O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds, to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to test people with tribulation, then take me to Yourself without putting me through it.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and being dominated by men.
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I do not need to seek from anyone other than You.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the downfall of Your blessings, the reversal of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that displeasures You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the overwhelming of debt and the subjugation of men.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, from being overwhelmed by debt and overcome by men.
O Allah, bless their measures, and bless their weights, and bless their measures (of capacity, like Sa'ah), and bless their measures (of capacity, like Mudd).
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure. And I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of wealth, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal. O Allah, cleanse my heart with water, snow, and hail. Purify my heart from sins as You purified the white garment from dirt. And distance me from my sins as You have distanced the East and the West.
Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we will return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey of ours for goodness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and bring its distance near. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the one in charge of the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of the journey, and from the sorrow of seeing misfortune, and from the bad fortunes in wealth and family.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and the resolve to follow what is right. I ask You for the ability to be grateful for Your favours and to worship You in the best manner. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good that You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil that You know. I ask Your forgiveness for what You know, for You are the Knower of all unseen things.
