Duas taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone in Your creation, or taught to any one of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the reliever of my worries.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of morals, deeds, and desires.
O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present among us and those who are absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever You keep alive among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whoever You cause to die among us, cause him to die upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not cause us to go astray after him.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and I ask You for the resolve of right guidance. I ask You to make me thankful for Your favours and excellent in Your worship. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask You of the good that You know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. I seek refuge in You from the trials of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of wealth, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of the Dajjal. I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that does not fear (You), and from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in the matter, and I ask You for the determination to follow guidance. I ask You to enable me to be grateful for Your favors and to worship You well. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for what You know. O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation. Keep me alive as long as You know that life is good for me, and cause me to die when You know that death is good for me. I ask You to make me fear You in private and in public. I ask You to let me speak the truth in times of contentment and anger. I ask You for moderation in poverty and wealth. I ask You for everlasting bliss, and for the coolness of my eyes that never ceases. I ask You for contentment after Your decree, and I ask You for a pleasant life after death. I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face, and the longing to meet You. I seek refuge in You from distressing harm and misleading deviation. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith and make us guides, rightly guided.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not feel humble, from a supplication that is not heard, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from knowledge that is not beneficial. I seek refuge in You from these four.
O Allah, unite them, mend that which is between them, and guide them to the paths of peace.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I associate with You unknowingly.
O Allah, make beneficial for me that which You have taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hellfire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the Dajjal.
