O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and being dominated by men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encompasses seeking refuge from some of the most debilitating emotional and practical struggles. Allah's Messenger ﷺ taught us to seek His protection from: * **Distress (Ham) and Sorrow (Hazan):** These afflictions weigh heavily on the heart, leading to despair. By seeking refuge, we ask Allah to lift these burdens and grant us peace. * **Weakness ('Ajz) and Laziness (Kasal):** These can paralyze us, preventing us from fulfilling our duties to Allah and His creation. This dua is a shield against inaction. * **Cowardice (Jubn) and Stinginess (Bukhli):** These are character flaws that hinder our progress in this life and the next. Cowardice prevents us from standing up for truth, and stinginess prevents us from spending in the way of Allah. * **Being Overcome by Debt (Ghalabatid-Dayn) and Being Dominated by Men (Qahrir-Rijal):** These are practical hardships that can cause immense humiliation and suffering. By seeking refuge, we ask Allah to protect us from such overpowering circumstances.
