اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ.

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I do not need to seek from anyone other than You.

Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

When to Read

This profound dua is particularly relevant when you find yourself dealing with a difficult neighbor, especially if their actions are causing you hardship or making your living situation uncomfortable. While this specific dua focuses on general sufficiency and independence from needing others, its spirit of seeking Allah's protection and provision can offer immense solace and strength when facing such challenges. It's a reminder to turn to Allah for relief and to seek contentment in what He has decreed, rather than succumbing to frustration or relying on means that might displease Him.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a focused heart, directing your plea to Allah alone. Raise your hands as you supplicate, a gesture of humility and reliance on your Creator. Understand that while the dua asks for sufficiency from unlawful things and independence from others, its underlying principle is to seek Allah's protection and guidance in all situations, including those involving difficult people. Trust in Allah's plan and His ability to ease your difficulties, whether through changing the neighbor's behavior, altering your circumstances, or strengthening your inner resilience.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful supplication for self-sufficiency and independence from needing the creation. By asking Allah to suffice us with His lawful provisions, we are essentially asking Him to shield us from the need to engage in anything unlawful out of desperation. Secondly, asking to be enriched by His grace, so that we are independent of others, means seeking contentment and trust in Allah's divine plan. This cultivates a strong reliance on the Creator, reducing anxiety and dependence on people who may or may not be able to help. When facing a difficult neighbor, this dua helps shift our focus from the problem person to the ultimate solution – Allah – fostering patience and seeking His protection through lawful and dignified means.
