Duas during times of difficulty and hardship
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men.
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment.
My Lord, expand for me my breast, and make my task easy, and loosen the knot from my tongue, so they may understand my speech.
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency (or contentment).
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is inevitable. Your justice in my regard is certain. I ask You by every Name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, to make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my anxieties. I can bear it only by Your command, and there is no might nor power except with You.
O Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of all things, the cleaver of the seed and the date-stone, the revealer of the Tawrah, the Injil, and the Furqan! I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything that You are seizing by its forelock. O Allah, You are the First, and there is nothing before You; You are the Last, and there is nothing after You; You are the Mostๆพ, and there is nothing above You; You are the Most Hidden, and there is nothing nearer than You. Discharge our debt and suffice us from poverty.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming of debt and the subduing of men.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and deeds that are accepted.
In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil of what I find and what I fear.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and determination in following the right path. I ask You to make me grateful for Your favors and excellent in Your worship. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil You know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know, for indeed, You are the Knower of unseen matters.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.
