Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered upon me and he took hold of my legs and rubbed them. Then he said: 'Aishah, do you not know that Allah, the Exalted, the Glorified, says: 'A man's prayer in his house is better than his prayer in public (if he does not have the excuse of some obligation), and the best religion for a man is his (voluntary) prayer.' She said: 'I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not find myself able to do more than what is obligatory, and I do not find anything in my prayer except that I am well and sound in my life.' He said: 'O Allah, make him healthy (or healed) and grant him ability to act.' So he began to rub my legs, and I did not feel pain after that until I departed this world. And it was narrated on the authority of Jabir that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to teach them the supplication which they should make use of in order to be protected from the evil eye of the Jinn and mankind, and he would recite: 'Bismillah, a'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir.' (In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil of what I find and what I fear.)
