O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and determination in following the right path. I ask You to make me grateful for Your favors and excellent in Your worship. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil You know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know, for indeed, You are the Knower of unseen matters.
Allahumma inni as'alukal-thabat fil-amr, wal-'azeemata 'alar-rushd, wa as'aluka shukra ni'matik, wa husna 'ibadatik, wa as'aluka qalban saleeman, wa lisaanan saadiqan, wa as'aluka min khairi ma ta'lam, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma ta'lam, wa astaghfiruka lima ta'lam, innaka anta 'allamul-ghuyoob.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to supplicate: 'O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 4948). Another narration from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) mentions the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: 'No servant turns to Allah, thanking Him for a blessing and asking for its continuation, except that Allah says: 'O My servant, I have forgiven you and what you have done, so continue your deeds, for I will recompense you for them.' (This reflects the aspect of gratitude and seeking continuation of blessings mentioned in the dua). While the exact wording of the dua provided is a compilation of beneficial requests often taught and practiced, the essence of seeking steadfastness, determination, gratitude, and good worship is deeply rooted in the Sunnah.
