Duas for overcoming sadness and depression
O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is effective. Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or that You have taught to any of Your creation, or that You have revealed in Your Book, or that You have kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a banisher of my sadness, and a remover of my distress.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is enacted. Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone from Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept in Your knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Quran the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the reliever of my distress.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is unfailing. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone from Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a banisher of my sadness and a remover of my worries.
In the name of Allah, with the dust of our earth and the saliva of some of us, may our sick be healed by the permission of our Lord.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone from Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept with You in the knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxiety.
O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your male slave, and son of Your female slave. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed, and Your decree upon me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or taught to one of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or You kept exclusively in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the reliever of my sadness and the dispeller of my anxiety.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You, which You have bestowed upon Yourself, or You have revealed in Your Book, or You have taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in Your knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxiety.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forehead is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have named Yourself with, or You have taught to any of Your creation, or You have revealed in Your Book, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my anxieties.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, and the change of Your protection, and the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all of Your displeasure. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from them.
