Dua for Comfort When Facing the Sadness of Family Estrangement

Sadness
Sahih HadithMusnad Ahmad 1/391

O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your male slave, and son of Your female slave. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed, and Your decree upon me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or taught to one of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or You kept exclusively in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the reliever of my sadness and the dispeller of my anxiety.

Allahumma inni 'abduka, wabnu 'abdika, wabnu amatika, nasiyati bi yadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka. As'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, awista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'alal-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
