I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of the devils and their presence.

A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min ghadabihi wa 'iqabihi, wa min sharri 'ibadihi, wa min hamazatis-shayateeni wa an yahdurun.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Abdullah bin Khubaib, from his father, that he said: "We went out on a very dark and rainy night, looking for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to lead us in prayer. We found him and he said: 'Have you prayed?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, have we prayed?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Say: Say: 'Say: 'Say: *'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min ghadabihi wa 'iqabihi, wa min sharri 'ibadihi, wa min hamazatis-shayateeni wa an yahdurun.'* (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of the devils and their presence.)' For indeed, they are a protection for you for the evening and the day." He (Abdullah) said: "So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught it to me, and I began to teach it to the people and acted upon it."
