Duas to recite before going to sleep
O Allah, the stars have appeared, and eyes have closed, and You are Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Slumber and sleep do not overtake You. O Allah, make my night peaceful and let my eyes sleep.
In Your name, my Lord, I lie down and in Your name I rise. If You should take my soul, then have mercy upon it. And if You should return my soul, then protect it with what You protect Your righteous servants.
In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whispers of the devils and from their presence.
O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being taken by surprise from beneath me.
All praise is due to Allah Who revived us after causing us to die, and to Him is the [final] return.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His creation, and from the whispers of devils, and from their presence.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gentle, the Most Generous. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the immense Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask of You the means to Your mercy, the resolve to Your forgiveness, safety from every sin, and the gain of every good deed, and deliverance from every evil. I ask You not to leave any sin of mine except that You forgive it, nor any worry except that You relieve it, nor any need that is pleasing to You except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
He (the devil) might change around you by Allah's command. When you wake up, say: 'In the name of Allah, all praise is due to Allah, glory be to Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.' Nothing will harm you.
O Allah, I have submitted my face to You, entrusted my affairs to You, and sought refuge in You for protection, desiring You and fearing You. There is no refuge or safety from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You sent.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the actions of Shaytan and from bad dreams.
There is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Ever-Forgiving.
O Allah, awaken me by the name most beloved to You, while I am saying: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things. Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. O Allah, forgive me. Or he said: My Lord, forgive me.
