Duas for qiyam al-layl, tahajjud, and late night devotion
O Allah, I ask for Your pleasure and Paradise, and I seek refuge in You from Your displeasure and the Fire.
O Allah, forgive me for all my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the apparent and the secret, the near and the far. O Allah, elevate me with knowledge, adorn me with forbearance, turn me towards Taqwa (consciousness of Allah), guide me to righteousness, and protect me from the evil of my own self, and from the evil of every moving creature whose forelock You hold. And from the evil of all, whether little or much. O Allah, place light in my heart, and light in my grave, and light before me, and light behind me, and light on my right, and light on my left, and light above me, and light beneath me. Increase me in light, increase me in light, increase me in light.
O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning. You love to pardon, so pardon me.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of character, deeds, and desires.
O Allah, our Lord, to You is all praise. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. And to You is all praise. Yours is the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. And to You is all praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. And to You is all praise. You are the King of the heavens and the earth. And to You is all praise. You are the Truth, and Your promise is Truth, and meeting You is Truth, and Your word is Truth, and Paradise is Truth, and the Fire is Truth, and the Prophets are Truth, and Muhammad ๏ทบ is Truth, and the Hour is Truth. O Allah, to You I have submitted, and in You I have believed, and upon You I have relied, and to You I have turned, and by You I have disputed, and to You I have appealed for judgment. So forgive me what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, and what I have concealed and what I have made public. You are the One Who sends forth and the One Who delays. There is no god but You. (Or: There is no god other than You.)
O Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, and Lord of the Mighty Throne! Our Lord and Lord of all things! The Cleaver of the seed and the date stone! The Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran! I seek refuge in You from the evil of every moving creature, the forelock of which You are seizing. O Allah, You are the First, and there is nothing before You. You are the Last, and there is nothing after You. You are the Manifest, and there is nothing above You. You are the Hidden, and there is nothing nearer than You. Pay our debt for us and spare us from poverty.
O Allah, to You belongs all praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. All praise is for You. You are the sovereign of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. All praise is for You. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. All praise is for You. You are the Truth, Your promise is Truth, meeting You is Truth, Your word is Truth, Paradise is Truth, Hellfire is Truth, the Prophets are Truth, and Muhammad ๏ทบ is Truth, and the Hour is Truth. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned, by You I have contended, and to You I have judged. So forgive me what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, what I have concealed and what I have declared. You are the One who sends forth and You are the One who delays. There is no god but You, or there is no god other than You.
Our Lord, the Blessed and the Exalted, descends to the lowest heaven each night when the last third of the night remains, saying: 'Is there anyone to call upon Me, so I may answer him? Is there anyone to ask of Me, so I may give him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, so I may forgive him?'
O Allah, forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, for what I have concealed and what I have made public, and what I have done excessively โ and what You know better than I. You are the One Who sends forth and the One Who delays. There is no god but You.
O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner.
O Allah, guide me among those You have guided. Grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being. Take me into Your care among those You have taken into Your care. Bless me in what You have given me. Protect me from the evil of what You have decreed, for You decree and are not decreed against. Indeed, the one You take as a protector cannot be humiliated. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted.
