Duas for qiyam al-layl, tahajjud, and late night devotion
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow. I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness. I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess. I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and from the domination of men.
O Allah, forgive [Name of deceased] son of [Father's name], and elevate his rank among those who are guided. And leave behind for his offspring, those who will remain. And forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. And broaden his grave for him and illuminate it for him.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and accepted deeds.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the evil suggestions of devils and from their presence.
O Allah, I ask for Your pleasure and Paradise, and I seek refuge in You from Your displeasure and the Fire.
O Allah, forgive me for all my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the apparent and the secret, the near and the far. O Allah, elevate me with knowledge, adorn me with forbearance, turn me towards Taqwa (consciousness of Allah), guide me to righteousness, and protect me from the evil of my own self, and from the evil of every moving creature whose forelock You hold. And from the evil of all, whether little or much. O Allah, place light in my heart, and light in my grave, and light before me, and light behind me, and light on my right, and light on my left, and light above me, and light beneath me. Increase me in light, increase me in light, increase me in light.
O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning. You love to pardon, so pardon me.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your judgment upon me is realised, and Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You, which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any one of Your creation, or kept exclusively to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my anxieties.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that does not feel humble, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.
O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best way.
O Allah, forgive me all my sins, the small and the great, the first and the last, the apparent and the hidden.
