Dua for Divine Guidance in Finding a Spouse on Friday
O Allah, guide me through You to the one who proposes to me and is my equal, and marry me to someone better than him and better for me, and take his forelock towards goodness, and that is better for me. O Allah, do not delay me until You set me right, and do not try me with what I cannot bear. Make Your love more beloved to me than myself, my family, and my wealth, and than cold water for the thirsty. There is no might nor power except with You. O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, to keep me alive as long as You know life is better for me, and to cause me to die if You know death is better for me. I ask You for Your fear in secret and in public, and I ask You for the word of truth in times of contentment and anger. I ask You for moderation in poverty and wealth. I ask You for unending bliss, and for the delight of the eye that does not cease. I ask You for contentment after Your decree, and for the coolness of life after death. I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face, and the longing to meet You, without hardship that causes harm, or trials that lead astray. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are guided. O Allah, I ask You for the best of requests, the best of supplications, the best of success, the best of deeds, the best of rewards, the best of life, and the best of deaths. Make me steadfast, weigh my good deeds heavily, perfect my faith, and grant me the highest ranks. O Allah, I ask You for the best of what You gave to the Prophets, and I ask You for the best of what I have been given, and the best of what has been revealed, and the best of what You know, and the best of the first and the last. And I ask You for the best of what You have created, and the best of what You are creating. And I ask You for all good, and the best of what You have given. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done, and from the evil of what I have not done, and from the evil of what You are creating. And I ask You for might and permanence, and I seek refuge in You from misguidance and from trials. And I ask You for the best of what You know, and enlighten my heart. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, on You I have relied, to You I have turned, and by You I have disputed, and to You I have appealed. So forgive me for what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, and what I have concealed and what I have revealed, and what I have transgressed, and what You know better than I. You are the Advancer, and You are the Delayer. There is no god but You. O Allah, make for us in our hearts a light, and in our eyes a light, and in our ears a light, and in our right [sides] a light, and in our left [sides] a light, and above us a light, and beneath us a light, and before us a light, and make for us a light, and make our light great, and make for us a light. O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful [provision] against Your unlawful [provision], and enrich me with Your bounty, independent of anyone other than You. And from trials, and I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds that bring me closer to Your love. And I ask You for health in my body, and blessing in my life. And make, O Allah, my heart attached to Your remembrance, adhering to Your obedience, responding to Your command, knowing Your rulings, content with Your decree, patient with Your trials, detached from my worldly life, desiring my hereafter, acting by the Quran, preserving the Quran, following the Quran, emulating the Prophet, holding fast to Islam, maintaining my prayers, paying my Zakat, discerning in my fasting, excelling in my Hajj, giving charity, striving in the worship of my Lord, obeying my Lord's command, striving in the path of my Lord, guarding the honor of Muslims, knowledgeable of the Quran, possessing the morals of Islam, characterized by faith, characterized by the Quran, characterized by Islam, energetic with the Quran, energetic with Islam, successful with the Quran, successful with Islam. And I ask You for the best of this life and the best of the hereafter, and I ask You for the happiness of this world and the hereafter. And I ask You to make for me a way to Your Paradise, and to admit me to Paradise, and to forbid my body from the Fire, and to intercede for my family and my brothers, and to grant me my request. Indeed, You are Able to do all things. And may Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad, and his family and all his companions.
