Duas during times of difficulty and hardship
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your judgment over me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone in Your creation, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in Your knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the remover of my worries.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the subjugation of men.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.
O Allah, I ask You of Your Grace, for indeed, no one possesses it except You.
I only complain of my anguish and my sorrow to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and resolve in acting righteously. I ask You to enable me to be grateful for Your blessings and to worship You in the best manner. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of all that You know. I ask You for the good of all that You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for all that You know. Verily, You are the Knower of the unseen.
O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds, and to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try Your creation with tribulation, then take me to Yourself without subjecting me to it. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me closer to Your love.
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne! Be my neighbor against the evil of the sky, the evil of the earth, the evil of the devils, the evil of mankind, and the evil of every creature whose forelock You are holding. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which is with You, that You make the Quran the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a banisher of my grief, and a remover of my anxiety.
O Allah, I ask You for the doing of good deeds, and the abandoning of evil deeds, and love of the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend a trial for Your creation, then take me to Yourself without putting me through it. And I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me closer to Your love.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from grief and distress, from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my weaknesses and secure my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your magnificence from being attacked from beneath me.
