O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your judgment over me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone in Your creation, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in Your knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the remover of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Shall I not teach you a comprehensive supplication which you say when you are distressed and when you are afflicted? You supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, with it, and you supplicate to Him in your prayer, and you supplicate to Him in your travel, and you supplicate to Him in your gathering, and you supplicate to Him in your sickbed, and you supplicate to Him in your life.' He then taught him this dua. (Ahmad, Al-Albani graded it Sahih Hasan)
