O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the subjugation of men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates seeking refuge from some of the most debilitating aspects of life that can lead to a feeling of being crushed under multiple hardships. Seeking refuge from distress (hamm) and sorrow (hazan) addresses emotional turmoil. Protection from incapacity ('ajz) and laziness (kasal) helps overcome feelings of powerlessness and inertia. Seeking refuge from cowardice (jubn) and stinginess (bukhl) shields against weaknesses of character that can exacerbate problems. Finally, seeking refuge from the burden of debt (dayn) and the subjugation of men (qahr ar-rijal) covers severe external pressures that can feel inescapable. By seeking Allah's protection from these, we are asking for strength, resilience, and relief.
