O Allah, open upon us the openings of those who know, and the openings of wisdom, knowledge, and recognition of You. O Ever-Living, O Self-Subsisting, by Your mercy I seek help.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the temptations of devils, and from their presence.
Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and leave not in our hearts hatred [for those who have believed]. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.
O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your decree concerning me is inevitable. Your judgment of me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which is with You, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the remover of my grief, and the banisher of my worries.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming of debt and the subjugation of men.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your judgment on me is just. I ask You by every name You have called Yourself, or taught to any one of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a banisher of my grief, and a reliever of my anxiety.
In the name of Allah, its course and its mooring. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.
