Duas for the Muslim community and humanity
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and grief, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the subjugation of men.
O Allah, guide us to the straight path. O Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to shun it.
O Allah, guide us to the best of character, for none can guide to the best of it except You. And turn us away from evil character, for none can turn away from evil of it except You.
Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a remover of my sorrow, and a dispeller of my anxieties.
O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, our Lord and the Lord of all things, the Cleaver of the grain and the date-stone, the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur'an. I seek refuge in You from the evil of every creature that You are seizing by its forelock. O Allah, You are the First, so there is nothing before You; You are the Last, so there is nothing after You; You are the Mostๆพ (az-Zahir), so there is nothing above You; You are the Most Hidden (al-Batin), so there is nothing nearer than You. Discharge our debt and make us free from want.
O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm on Your religion and on Your obedience.
O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the evil of our deeds and from the evil of everything You are seizing by its forelock. O Allah, we seek refuge in You from hardship, distress, wretchedness, bad character, vain desires, and evil circumstances. O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the reversal of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all Your displeasure.
O Allah, we place You before them, and we seek refuge in You from their evil.
O Allah, guide us and guide through us, and make us a cause for those who are guided. My Lord, grant me from among the righteous.
O Allah, benefit me by what You have taught me, teach me what is beneficial for me, and increase me in knowledge.
O Allah, protect our scholars and teachers from being wronged by word or deed. Make them guides and rightly guided, and grant them victory over those who intend them harm.
