โœฆ

O Allah, protect our scholars and teachers from being wronged by word or deed. Make them guides and rightly guided, and grant them victory over those who intend them harm.

Allahumma ihfadh 'ulama'ana wa mu'allimina min an yusa' ilayhim bil-qawli awil-fi'li, waj'alhum hudan wa mahdiyyin, wansurhum 'ala man yurid bihim su'an.

When to Read

This dua can be recited regularly, especially during times when scholars or teachers are facing public criticism, misunderstanding, or misrepresentation. It's also beneficial to make it a habit during personal supplications, after obligatory prayers, or during significant times like Laylat al-Qadr, as a way to actively support those who dedicate their lives to preserving and disseminating Islamic knowledge.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a pure intention, focusing on the importance of upholding the honor and integrity of those who guide us in our faith. Begin by making istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ. Raise your hands in supplication as is the Sunnah, and beseech Allah with conviction. It is recommended to conclude by making du'a for yourself and the rest of the Ummah, fostering a spirit of unity and mutual support.

Virtues & Benefits

Invoking Allah's protection for scholars and teachers is a way of honoring the knowledge they carry and the efforts they expend. It aligns with the Islamic principle of respecting those who possess knowledge, as Allah says: 'Allah will raise in degree those of you who believe and those who have been given knowledge' (Al-Mujadalah 58:11). Protecting them from misrepresentation ensures that the message of Islam is conveyed accurately and that the Ummah is not led astray by false narratives. It also cultivates a positive environment where knowledge can flourish and beneficial guidance can reach the people.
