Duas to recite before going to sleep
O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, our Lord and Lord of everything, Cleaver of the seed and the date stone, Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran. I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things You seize by their forelocks. O Allah, You are the First, so there is nothing before You; You are the Last, so there is nothing after You; You are the Apparent, so there is nothing above You; You are the Hidden, so there is nothing closer than You. Settle our debts for us and enrich us from poverty.
By Your Name, my Lord, I lay down my side. By Your Name, I raise it. If You keep my soul, have mercy on it. If You send it back, protect it with what You protect Your righteous servants.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your favors, and from the change of Your protection, and from the suddenness of Your punishment, and from all Your displeasures. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of the Fire, and from the hardships of affliction, and from the evil of destiny, and from the evil of what is decreed, and from the rejoicing of the enemies. O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and resolution in guidance, and I ask You for the means to thank You for Your favors and to worship You well. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the best of what You know and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all Your displeasure.
O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants.
O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge. All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the heavy burden of debt and the overpowering of men.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.
All praise is due to Allah Who gave us life after death, and to Him is the return.
O Allah, I ask You for the ability to do good deeds and abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. And when You intend for mankind a trial, take me to Yourself without [falling into] that trial. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me closer to Your love.
O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds and to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try Your creation with turmoil, then take me to Yourself without putting me to trial.
