O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your favors, and from the change of Your protection, and from the suddenness of Your punishment, and from all Your displeasures. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of the Fire, and from the hardships of affliction, and from the evil of destiny, and from the evil of what is decreed, and from the rejoicing of the enemies. O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and resolution in guidance, and I ask You for the means to thank You for Your favors and to worship You well. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the best of what You know and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuj'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatek. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa min 'adhab an-nar, wa min juhd al-bala', wa darak ash-shaqa', wa su' al-qada', wa shamatat al-a'da'. Allahumma inni as'aluk al-thabat fi al-amr, wal-'azimata 'ala ar-rushd, wa as'aluka shukra ni'matik, wa husna 'ibadatik, wa as'aluka qalban saliman, wa lisanan sadiqan, wa as'aluka min khayri ma ta'lam, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma ta'lam, wa astaghfiruka lima ta'lam. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach his companions to say, when one of them wanted to sleep: 'O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth and Lord of the magnificent Throne, our Lord and the Lord of everything, the Splitter of the grain and the date-pit, the Revealer of the Torah and the Injil and the Qur'an, I seek refuge in You from the evil of every evil; You are the One Who seizes by the forelock. Your will be done. O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, there is nothing after You. You are the Outwardly apparent, there is nothing above You, and You are the Inwardly hidden, there is nothing other than You. Relieve us of our debt and enrich us from poverty.' And it was narrated from him (ﷺ) that he used to say when he slept: 'O Allah, Lord of the heavens and what they overshadow, and Lord of the earths and what they carry, I seek refuge in You from the evil of the jinn and mankind, and from the evil of everything, and from the evil of the Day of Judgment.' It was also narrated from him (ﷺ) that he used to say: 'O Allah, I have submitted myself to You, and turned my face to You, and entrusted my affair to You, and fled to You for refuge, not through (any) desire for myself or (from any) fear of You, but because I pledged allegiance to You. There is no refuge nor safety from You except with You. O Allah, I believe in Your Book which You sent down and in Your Messenger whom You sent.' And if he died that night, he would have died upon the Fitrah. And he used to say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the defeated, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelmed, and I seek refuge in You from the unjust, and I seek refuge in You from being lost, and I seek refuge in You from the devil's temptation at the time of death, and I seek refuge in You from dying in battle, and I seek refuge in You from dying of thirst, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and the house of ruin. O Allah, fight them and defeat them. O Allah, grant me sustenance in my home, and do not separate between me and my home. O Allah, grant me the best of the night's provision, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what is in it. O Allah, You created me and You guide me, You feed me and You give me drink, when I am ill You restore me to health, You cause me to die and You give me life. I ask You with Your Oneness, Your Solitude, Your Worship, and the uniqueness of Your being, that You forgive me my sins, for indeed, there is no one who forgives sins except You. O Allah, I seek refuge in Your perfect words from the evil of what You have created.' And it was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Khubayb that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: 'Recite: Say: 'He is Allah, the One...' and the two Surahs of seeking refuge (i.e. Al-Falaq and An-Nas) three times in the evening and three times in the morning, and it will suffice you from everything.' And it was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, there is nothing between him and entering Paradise except that he should die.' And it was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Do not make your houses as graves, for indeed, the devil does not enter a house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is recited.' And it was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) did not sleep until he recited Bani Isra'il (Surah Al-Isra') and Az-Zumar.
