Al-Hasan Al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: 'Ubadah ibn As-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his son: 'O my son, you will not taste the reality of faith until you know that what has befallen you was not going to miss you, and that what has missed you was not going to befall you. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Indeed, Allah created (people) and He wrote upon Himself that He would not bring back the fire of Hellfire anyone who says: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الأَخْلاَقِ، وَالأَعْمَالِ، وَ الأَهْوَاءِ (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of morals, deeds, and desires.)"'
