Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and do not place in our hearts hatred for those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.

It's particularly beneficial during moments of reflection, after observing a disagreement, or when seeking to purify your intentions and heart from suspicion.

How to Read

Recite this ayah with sincerity and deep contemplation. Imagine yourself standing before Allah, humbly asking for forgiveness for any past transgressions in judging others and requesting purification of your heart. Call upon Allah by His beautiful names, Ar-Ra'oof (The Kind) and Ar-Raheem (The Merciful), emphasizing your need for His mercy and gentleness in dealing with your fellow believers. Make it a consistent practice, especially when interacting with others.

Virtues & Benefits

This verse is a profound prayer that directly addresses the root of suspicion and ill will. By asking Allah to remove 'ghill' (hatred, malice, or rancor) from our hearts towards believers, we seek inner peace and a healthy spiritual state. It fosters empathy and understanding, reminding us that we are all flawed human beings striving towards Allah. Cultivating a heart free from suspicion is a cornerstone of good character in Islam, leading to stronger community bonds and earning Allah's pleasure. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said: 'Do not be jealous of each other, do not bid up prices of each other, do not hate each other, do not turn away from each other, and do not underbid each other. Be, O slaves of Allah, brothers.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6065, Sahih Muslim 2559)
