Virtues & Benefits

This beautiful dua encompasses seeking Allah's help in four crucial areas that lead to a pure heart and a steadfast character: 1. **Guidance (Huda):** The knowledge and ability to discern right from wrong. 2. **Piety (Tuqa):** The consciousness of Allah and the fear of His displeasure, which motivates one to obey His commands and avoid His prohibitions. 3. **Chastity ('Afaf):** Purity in one's actions and intentions, particularly regarding avoiding forbidden matters, including looking at what is unlawful. 4. **Self-sufficiency (Ghina):** Inner richness and contentment, relying on Allah alone and not being driven by desires or the need for what others possess. By asking for these, a Muslim equips themselves with the spiritual and moral fortitude to lower their gaze, as commanded in the Quran (An-Nur 24:30).
