Duas for various evening activities and settling down
In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the instigations of devils and from their presence.
O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, for goodly provision, and for deeds that are accepted.
O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night, the good of what is in it, and the good of what comes after it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night, the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what comes after it. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, the evil of this life and the (next) abode, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi (Throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
In the name of Allah. O Allah, bless us in it and feed us better than it.
By Your name, my Lord, I lie down on my side. By Your name, I rise. If You seize my soul, have mercy on it, and if You release it, protect it with what You protect Your righteous servants.
O Allah, we make You their shield and we seek refuge in You from their evil.
Praise be to Allah Who revived us after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and accepted deeds.
Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
In Your name, my Lord, I lie down, and in Your name, I rise. If You take my soul, forgive it, and if You keep it, protect it with what You protect Your righteous servants.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming of debt and the subjugation of men.
