Duas during times of difficulty and hardship
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah.
O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or taught to any one of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or kept exclusively to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, to make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the driver away of my worries.
O Allah, suffice me against them with what You wish.
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me by Your grace, so that I may not need to ask anyone other than You.
O Allah, I ask You for its [the wind's, rain's, etc.] good, and the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, and the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been sent with.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from destruction [by building collapsing], from being thrown from a height, from drowning, from burning, from extreme old age, and I seek refuge in You from being tormented by Shaytan at the time of death, and from dying in Your cause while turning my back, and I seek refuge in You from dying from a venomous bite.
We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return. O Allah, decree for me goodness in this matter (referring to the calamity) and delay my end until a specified time. Make me pleased with Your decree, and do not show me in this world anything that my heart dislikes. Do not let the desires control me, and do not give Satan power over me. Save me from all evil, and forgive me, for indeed none can forgive sins except You.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.
O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your judgment upon me is inevitable. Your command concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept for Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a banisher of my sorrow, and a reliever of my distress.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all of Your displeasure.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming of debt and the subjugation of men.
