Dua for the Best of the Night and What Follows
O Allah, I ask You for the best of this night and the best of what follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. O Allah, I ask You for honour and remembrance in this world and the Hereafter, and I seek refuge in You from all evil, all adornments, and everything that distracts me from Your remembrance, from praying at night, and from all good. O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my sight, light in my hearing, light in my tongue, light in my intellect, light in my religion, and light in my body, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what follows it. O Allah, place light in my grave, and place light with me, and light on my face, and increase me in light. O Allah, make for me light in my grave, and light in my grave, and make for me light upon the bridge (Sirat), and light in Paradise. O Allah, do not let me die except as a Muslim, and let me live as a Muslim, and join me with the righteous, not in disgrace nor in trial.
