How to Read
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us a specific method for seeking healing when afflicted by illness. He would take some soil from the ground, mix it with his own saliva, and then rub it over the place of pain, saying the words of this dua. This practice emphasizes seeking healing through the means Allah has provided, while always attributing the ultimate cure to Him. When you recite this for someone else, or even for yourself, visualize the healing power of Allah flowing through the earth and saliva to bring about recovery. Remember that sincerity and firm belief (yaqin) are crucial components of making dua.

Narrated 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): When any person among them had a complaint of hair growing on his body, he would point to it with his finger, and the Prophet (ﷺ) would not permit except this. 'Aisha added: And when any person among them complained of fever, he would not permit except this. Then he would say with his fingers like this (he would rub his fingers together), and he would say: 'Bismillahi, turbatu ardina, biriqati ba'dina, yushfa saqeemunā, bi'idhnai rabbina'.
