Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: While the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the Friday sermon, a man came in and stood facing him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the horses and the sheep have perished.' He said: 'O Allah, around us and not upon us.' He then said: 'O Allah, (send rain) upon the hills and mountains, the valleys and the places where plants grow.' Anas said: 'It stopped raining and we went out with the Prophet (ﷺ) walking in the sun.' A narrator said to Anas: 'This was the rain of the previous Thursday.
