Recite this dua with sincerity and a sense of urgency, reflecting the need for Allah's mercy. It's recommended to raise your hands as the Prophet ﷺ did when making this supplication. Ensure your heart is focused on Allah and His power to bring relief.
Virtues & Benefits
Making dua for rain is a recognition of our dependence on Allah for all sustenance, including water, which is a source of life itself. The Quran mentions the importance of water for life: 'And We made from water every living thing. Then will they not believe?' (Al-Anbiya 21:30). This act of seeking rain also fosters humility and strengthens our connection with our Creator, reminding us that He is Al-Razzaq (The Provider).

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'A man entered the mosque on a Friday and the Prophet (peace be upon him) was delivering the sermon. The man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the animals have perished and the roads are cut off, so pray to Allah to give us rain.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, grant us rain, O Allah, grant us rain, O Allah, grant us rain.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 1014)
