Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "A man entered the Masjid on Friday while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon. The man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the camels are perishing, the roads are cut off, so pray to Allah to send us rain.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, give us rain, O Allah, give us rain, O Allah, give us rain.' He said: 'They had no clouds, but by Allah, (all of a sudden) the clouds gathered and it rained, and the Masjid was leaked, and the roof was dripping. It rained that day, and the next day, and the next day, and until the next Friday. A man entered (the Masjid) on the second Friday while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon, and he called out: 'O Messenger of Allah, the wealth is perishing (due to excess rain) and the houses are being destroyed; so pray to Allah to stop it.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, around us and not on us.' And the clouds started dispersing from over Medina." Sahih al-Bukhari 1014.
