Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and delivered a sermon. He then raised his hands towards the sky and supplicated for rain and then lowered his hands, saying: 'O Allah, (send rain to) the regions around us and not upon us.' Then he was asked, 'Are you asking for rain to fall on the trees and the land?' He replied: 'Yes, it rained as much as it was over the areas around Medina.' We looked (towards Medina) and saw the rain falling only on the surrounding areas, not on Medina itself.
