Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: During the time of the Prophet (ﷺ), the people were afflicted by a drought. While the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the Friday sermon, a man stood up and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, our wealth has been destroyed, and our families are hungry; supplicate to Allah for us.' So he (ﷺ) supplicated, and then he (ﷺ) descended from the pulpit and prayed two rak'ahs. He (ﷺ) raised his hands and said: 'Allahumma aghithna, Allahumma aghithna, Allahumma aghithna.' (O Allah, grant us rain! O Allah, grant us rain! O Allah, grant us rain!). It was then that the clouds gathered like mountains and it rained.
