The repetition emphasizes the urgency and deep need for Allah's mercy. Recite it facing the Qiblah, or in any state of earnestness. It is traditionally called 'Istisqa'.

Virtues & Benefits

Seeking rain through dua is a Sunnah practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It demonstrates our reliance on Allah for all provisions, including the rain that sustains life and nourishes the earth. It reminds us that even the smallest sprout is a miracle of Allah's creation, and its survival is in His hands. The act of calling upon Allah in times of need strengthens our faith and connection to Him, seeking His mercy not just for ourselves but for all of creation.
