O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and comfort my fears. O Allah, protect me from my front and from my back, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Might from being struck from beneath me.
Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. Virtues & Benefits
Seeking 'afiyah (well-being and protection) from Allah (SWT) is one of the most comprehensive forms of supplication. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his uncle Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) when he asked him for something to ask Allah for. This emphasizes its immense value. For the elderly, it offers solace by asking for protection from physical ailments, spiritual weaknesses, and worldly troubles. It strengthens faith by relying solely on Allah during times of dependence and potential hardship, ensuring peace of mind and spiritual fortitude.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Ask Allah for forgiveness and well-being (al-'afiyah). No one will be given anything better than well-being after faith.' Then he said: 'O Abbas, O Uncle of the Messenger of Allah, indeed I ask Allah for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Abbas, O Uncle of the Messenger of Allah, indeed it is a supplication for the forgiveness of sins and well-being: O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion and my worldly affairs, my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and comfort my fears. O Allah, protect me from my front and from my back, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Might from being struck from beneath me.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5074)
