يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.

Ya muqallibal-qulubi, thabbit qalbi 'ala deenik

When to Read

This is a profound supplication that can be recited at any time, especially when you feel your conviction wavering, or as you approach old age. It's a constant reminder to seek Allah's help in remaining steadfast in your faith throughout life's journey, particularly as the body and mind may grow weaker. You can make it a part of your daily prayers or recall it during moments of reflection.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and heartfelt conviction. Focus on the meaning of 'O Turner of the hearts' – acknowledging that Allah alone has control over our hearts and emotions. Visualize your heart being anchored firmly to Islam. It's best recited after your obligatory prayers, but like all duas, it can be offered anytime you feel the need.

Virtues & Benefits

The primary benefit of this dua is seeking Allah's direct intervention to keep your faith strong and unwavering. As we age, the temptations of the world can become more alluring, and the physical challenges might make spiritual practice seem harder. This supplication is a lifeline, asking the One who controls all hearts to solidify ours on the truth of Islam. It acknowledges our dependence on Allah and proactively seeks His protection against falling into misguidance or losing the essence of our faith when we are most vulnerable.

Source & Authentication

The Hadith narrated by Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) states that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: 'Indeed, the hearts of the children of Adam are between the fingers of the Most Merciful, changing as they please.' Then he said: 'We said: O Messenger of Allah, we believe in what you have brought, and we know that it is from Allah. So, teach us a dua that we may say after our prayers.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Say: O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the Exalted Throne, our Lord and the Lord of everything, the Splitter of the grain and the date-seed, the Revealer of the Tawrah and the Injeel and the Furqan, I seek refuge in You from the evil of every evil, the one You are seizing by its forelock. O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You; You are the Last, there is nothing after You; You are the apparent, there is nothing above You; You are the hidden, there is nothing below You. Decree the debt from us and enrich us from poverty.' And he (peace be upon him) said: 'And say: O Ya Muqallibal-Qulubi, Thabbit Qalbi 'ala Deenik (O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion).'
