O Allah, I submit myself to You, and I turn my face to You, and I entrust my affair to You, and I seek refuge in You with hope and fear in You. There is no refuge or escape from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You sent.

Al-Bara' bin 'Azib narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, 'When you go to your bed, perform ablution like the one you do for Salat (prayer), and then lie down on your right side and say: Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa fawwadtu amri ilaika, wa alja'tu zahrri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikalladhi anzalta, wa binabiyyikalladhi arsalta. I believe in Your Book which You revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You sent.) If you die on that night, you will die in the fittest state (of pure nature). Let this be the last thing you say.' Al-Bara' said: 'When I said this to the Prophet (ﷺ) and I was on my bed, I said it again. Then he said: And believe in your Prophet (ﷺ). So I repeated: Amantu bikitabikalladhi anzalta, wa binabiyyikalladhi arsalta. (I believe in Your Book which You revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You sent.)
