‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I used to hear the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, when he was near death, saying: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ. O Allah, forgive me, have mercy upon me, and join me with the Highest Companion. (Allahumma ighfirli, warhamni, walhiqni bir-rafiqil-a'la). I also heard him say when he was breathing his last: Nay, (but with) the Highest Companion. I seek Allah's forgiveness, and repent to Him. Sahih al-Bukhari 6306.
