When to Read
This powerful supplication, found in Surah As-Saffat, is ideal for anyone, especially those who are older and have not yet been blessed with righteous children, or who are praying for their existing children to remain steadfast in their faith and good character. It can be recited regularly, particularly after prayers, during times of sincerity, or whenever one reflects on the importance of a virtuous legacy.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and heartfelt conviction, focusing on Allah's ability to grant the best of offspring. Raise your hands in supplication as the Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ taught us is a sign of earnestness. Repeat it consistently, trusting in Allah's timing and wisdom. The etiquette of dua includes facing the Qiblah, starting with praise of Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet ๏ทบ, and ending with the same.
Virtues & Benefits
This verse embodies the profound desire of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) for offspring who will not only be a comfort to him but also uphold the principles of faith and righteousness. By reciting this dua, we align ourselves with the legacy of a great Prophet, seeking Allah's bestowal of children who will be a source of joy in this life and a means of continued reward in the Hereafter. Righteous offspring are a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) for their parents, continuing to pray for them and remember them even after their passing, as indicated in hadith such as Sahih Muslim 1631.
