اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need any assistance from others besides You.

Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited every morning after the obligatory Fajr prayer. It's a proactive step to align your day with seeking lawful sustenance and trusting in Allah's provision, which is especially important when facing financial challenges or the burden of debt.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction, believing that Allah (SWT) is the ultimate provider. Say it after finishing your Fajr prayer, while still in your prayer space or shortly after, as part of your morning supplications (Adhkar). Focus on the meaning and feel the reliance on Allah as you utter the words.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua directly addresses two crucial aspects of well-being: financial integrity and self-sufficiency through Allah's grace. By asking Allah to suffice us with lawful means, we seek protection from falling into forbidden or questionable income sources. The second part, asking for enrichment through His grace, is a plea for contentment and independence from needing to rely on people, which can sometimes lead to humbling situations or compromising one's dignity. It cultivates a deep sense of tawakkul (reliance) on Allah, acknowledging Him as the sole source of true wealth and fulfillment. This is especially relevant when dealing with debts, as it's a prayer for the means to repay them lawfully and the inner peace to manage the situation.

Source & Authentication

The hadith narrates that Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: 'I have a worry weighing on my mind and a debt.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: 'Shall I not teach you words that, if you say them, Allah will remove your worry and pay off your debt?' Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'Yes, teach me.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Say every morning and evening: *Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak*.' (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need any assistance from others besides You.)
