Dua for Comfort and Belonging in Gatherings

Loneliness & Isolation
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 744

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is effective, and Your decision concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which is with You, to make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.

Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibn 'abdika, ibn amatik, nasiyatii biyadika, madin fiyya h--ukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qadaa'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabiik, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabii'a qalbi, wa nuura sadrii, wa jalaa'a huznii, wa dhahaaba hammii.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'No one who has an atom's weight of faith in his heart will be afflicted with calamity, but Allah will make it (a means of purification) for him. And I do not know but that he said: And no one who has an atom's weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise. And he said: Shall I not tell you of that which cleanses a man as the water cleanses the garment from dirt, and of that which enhances the good deeds and raises them in rank? They said: Yes, Messenger of Allah. He said: Praising Allah and glorifying Him. And when a person meets his brother Muslim, they greet each other with a greeting of peace, and he takes him by the hand and praises Allah and glorifies Him until they separate. And when he breaks into a group of people, he greets them with a greeting of peace, and when he wants to get up (from sitting), he greets them with a greeting of peace. And whoever does not do that, there is more than one reason for him to regret it. And Allah, the Mighty and Most High, said: '...and when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with what is better or [at least] equal to it...' (4:86). And there is no way (of salvation) for a believer except through supplication. And the best of the deeds of the believers is to supplicate. And the best of the deeds of the believers is to supplicate. And the best of the deeds of the believers is to supplicate. And Allah, the Mighty and Most High, said: '...And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make for him a way out. And He will provide for him from sources he never could have imagined...' (65:2-3). And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will suffice him. And whoever relies on Allah, He will suffice him. And the Word of Allah, the Mighty and Most High: '...indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves...' (13:11). And Allah, the Mighty and Most High, said: 'O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy' (2:168). And Allah, the Mighty and Most High, said: '...and whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned; but He pardons much...' (42:30). And he (Ibn Mas'ud) said: And the Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge in Allah from the decline of blessings, the change of well-being, the suddenness of His punishment, and all His displeasure. And he used to say: 'O Allah, I ask You for the ease that comes after hardship, the relief that comes after distress, the goodness that comes after difficulty, and I ask You for perseverance in all affairs, and I ask You for the resolve to follow the right path, and I ask You for the reasons for Your forgiveness, and the will to attain Your mercy, and I ask You for the means to attain Your bounty, and I ask You for good health, and I ask You for a sound final end, and I ask You for the greatest gain in this world and the Hereafter. And I ask You, O Allah, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.'
