Dua for Finding Joy and Connection Through Acts of Kindness to Strangers

Loneliness & Isolation
Hasan HadithSunan At-Tirmidhi 2922

O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds, and to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. And I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try Your creation, then take me to Yourself without putting me to trial. And I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of any deed that will bring me closer to Your love.

Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'lal khayrat, wa tarkal munkarat, wa hubbal masakin, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fi khalqika fitnatan fa tawaffani ilayka ghayra maftun. Wa as'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: The Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka al-huda wa-t-tuqa wa-l-'afafa wa-l-ghina (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and richness).' And he would supplicate: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka al-muflihata l-mukhin, wa-l-muflihata l-mubdilin, wa-l-muflihata l-musbihin, wa-l-muflihata l-mumsin, wa-l-muflihata l-muqlibin, wa-l-muflihata l-muttaqin.
