O Allah, protect the pilgrims to Your House and the visitors to the tomb of Your Prophet (peace be upon him). Make their deeds accepted, their efforts rewarded, and their sins forgiven. Make them and their families celebrate safely and victoriously, secure among their families, with well-being for themselves, their wealth, and their children. Protect them in their faith and their worldly affairs, and in all that You have granted them. And make them among those You free from the Fire.
Allahumma ihfadh hujjaj baytika wa zuwwar qabri nabiyyika sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, waj'al 'amalahum mabrooran, wa sa'yahum mashkooran, wa dhunoobahum maghfoorah, waj'alhum wa ahleehim 'eidan salimeen ghanimeen, fee ahleehim bila amthilatin, wa fee anfusihim ma'a 'aafiyatin, wa fee amwaalihim wa awlaadihim, wa fee deenihim wa dunyaahum, wa fee jamee'i ma a'taytahum, waj'alhum min 'utqaa'ika min an-naar.
When to Read
This dua is particularly suitable to recite before you embark on your Hajj or Umrah journey, or at any point during your pilgrimage when you think of your fellow Muslims. It's also a beautiful dua to make when you hear about others going for Hajj or Umrah, or even after they have returned, asking Allah to accept their pilgrimage.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a heartfelt concern for your fellow pilgrims. Picture them in your mind as you make this supplication. Face the Qiblah if possible, and raise your hands in supplication, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Remember that sincerity and a pure intention are key to the acceptance of any dua.
Virtues & Benefits
Making dua for others, especially fellow pilgrims undertaking a significant act of worship, carries immense virtue. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is readily answered. An angel is appointed by his side; whenever he (the Muslim) supplicates for his brother, the angel says, 'Ameen, and for you the same.' (Sahih Muslim 2180). By reciting this, you are not only asking for their safety and acceptance of their worship but also inviting Allah's blessings and a similar response for yourself.
Source & Authentication
The concept of making dua for others is well-established in prophetic traditions. While this specific comprehensive wording might be compiled from various prophetic concepts and scholar's compilations of supplications, the essence is rooted in the Sunnah. A foundational hadith regarding the efficacy of supplicating for one's brother in his absence is: 'The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is readily answered. An angel is appointed by his side; whenever he (the Muslim) supplicates for his brother, the angel says, 'Ameen, and for you the same.' (Sahih Muslim 2180). The act of seeking protection and acceptance for all pilgrims aligns with the spirit of brotherhood in Islam, especially during the sacred journey of Hajj and Umrah.
