Dua for Longing to Witness Hajj Again

Hajj & Umrah
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 1581

O people, Hajj has been ordained upon you, so perform Hajj. O Allah, I ask You for the success of those who perform Hajj, the seeking of its reward, and its acceptance. I ask You to protect me and grant me well-being in this world and the Hereafter, and to let me reach Your Sacred House. Grant me the Hajj to Your Sacred House as long as You keep me alive. Grant me righteous deeds that will weigh heavily on my scales, and grant me pure and lawful provision. O Allah, I ask You, as You are the King, and You are Able, and You are Able over all things, to grant me Hajj this year and every year, and to help me with it.

Yā ayyuha an-nāsu qad furida ʿalaykumu al-ḥajju faḥujjū. Allāhumma innī as'aluka tawfīqa ahlil-ḥajji, wa-btighā'a ajril-ḥajji, wal-qabūla baʿda al-ḥajji, wa an taṣūnanī wa tuʿāfiyanī fī dunyaaya wa ākhiratī, wa an tuballighanī baytakal-ḥarāma, wa an tarzuqanī al-ḥajja ilā baytikal-ḥarāmi mā abqaytanī, wa an tarzuqanī al-ʿamala aṣ-ṣāliḥa alladhī yuthqilu mawāzīnī, wa an tarzuqanī ar-rizqal-ḥalāla aṭ-ṭayyiba. Allāhumma innī as'aluka bi-annaka malikun, wa annaka qādirun, wa annaka ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīr, an tarzuqanī al-ḥajja fī ʿāmī hādhā wa fī kulli ʿāmin, wa an tuʿīnanī ʿalā dhālika.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: O people, Hajj has been made obligatory for you, so perform Hajj. A man said: Must we perform it every year, O Messenger of Allah? He kept silent until he said it thrice. Then he said: If I had said 'yes' it would have become obligatory, and you would not have been able to perform it. Then he said: I have left you with two things, and you will not go astray as long as you adhere to them: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah. (Sunan Abi Dawud 1581). In another narration, it mentions that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) addressed people, he would say: O people, Allah has enjoined upon you the pilgrimage, so perform pilgrimage. A man asked: Must we do it every year? He said: Had I said ‘yes’, it would have been obligatory, and had it been obligatory, you would not have been able to do it. So leave me as I am with you. If I tell you anything, ask me about it. If I tell you anything concerning God, then hold fast to it, for God does not mention anything but He mentions it in the Book of God. (Sunan An-Nasa'i 2647)
