Anas narrated that the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate often: 'O Allah, O Controller of the hearts, make my heart firm on Your religion.' (Sahih Muslim 2654, Sunan At-Tirmidhi 4040). The narration in Tirmidhi includes: 'Mu'adh bin Jabal said, 'O Messenger of Allah! What is the most virtuous of supplications?' He said: 'O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in the affair (of religion).' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What is the most virtuous of steadfastness?' He said: 'O Controller of the hearts, make my heart firm on Your religion.'
